Well, here I am. This is the night before I officially join the ranks of this year’s crop of paramedic students at East Central Community College. I’ve been looking forward to this moment ever since I decided that I wanted to get involved in EMS and I’m very excited about this new chapter in my life.
I’m also scared out of my mind.
I’m not scared that I’m going to fail or that I’m going I’m going to kill someone or anything like that. Maybe “nervous” would be a better choice of words. It’s going to be a lot of work both in class, in clinicals and with my homework but I’m ready. I’m ready for the challenge and eager to get going! Tomorrow is the start of my “quest for the disco patch.” In fact, those of you who follow me on Twitter (and I encourage you to do so if you don’t currently) can follow the hashtag #questforthediscopatch for tweets about school and things related to it.
So now, I’m going to call it a night because I have to get up early in the AM. I’ll be posting on this blog whenever I’m able with notes on my quest. I’m sure I’ll be venting about some things but I know that frustration at times is just part of the process. It will be hard work but it’s going to be worth it and I’m ready for every bit of it. If you ever want to give advice or anything else please feel free to leave a comment.
Thanks for reading this little corner of the blogosphere.
Jonathan
P.S. I’m going to fine tune some things on here as I have time to. I already have several blogs I’m going to include on a blogroll but if you’d like yours included please feel free to let me know.
